Illegal gambling machines seized from bars | Crime
Officials in Enid say they are cracking down on illegal gambling at various bars around the city.
Authorities say they received several complaints from citizens before conducting an undercover investigation into gaming machines that were being used for illegal gambling.
The Enid Police Department, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and the Garfield County Sheriff's Office served four search warrants at bars around town.
Officers seized the machines and money from The Captain's Quarters, BG's 26th Street Bar, Ma & Pa's and Shooters Saloon.
Sgt. Eric Reddick, with the Enid Police Department, said, "We have been to a couple of these bars for the same thing in the past. Nearly every machine was being played in one of the bars when we served the search warrant.”
In all, 25 machines and just under $7,300 in cash were seized as a result of the investigation.
Charges may be filed in the case.
